Acan rapped on the door of the Queen's chambers, nosegay in a small basket with the ends of the coveted silk ribbons fluttering gently with each movement.
(I forgot where I left Lillia last, so I'll just have her be stalking the humans using her mirror again. :p )

Lillia looked up from her large mirror, wanting to see if she could learn more information about this tunnel, and got up to head over to her door. She yawned quietly and prepared to not look tired or upset by this whole situation at all before she opened the door and smiled softly when she saw Acan.
"Good morning, Acan." She greeted pleasantly.

"Well, if I wasn't generous, then the patients in my care probably wouldn't have such a high survival rate." Laurielle stated simply as she went back to her desk to put the other two books away.
"So, are you an avid reader? I know that many individuals do not care much for reading." She asked him with some curiosity.

"Yes, I am. Both my parents instilled a love of the written word. In these times where there are may disadvantaged individuals, the skill of reading is something that can never hurt." Sebastian stated truthfully.

Acan beamed and looked down at the Queen's hands as he quietly stated," your bouquet is ready my Queen."
He shifted nervously, never looking yer in the face even though he towered over her. He was very glad she was there to receive him this morning.

Quote: "Thank you, they're lovely as always." Lillia complimented as she took the bouquet. She silently felt like she didn't deserve them, or anything really, because of how the kingdom was, and how everything shouldn't be the way it is, and it was probably her fault, but Lillia didn't visually express any of those thoughts.
She paused for a few moments before speaking again, "Acan, I believe you have a helper with your gardens, correct? And he is a burrowing owl?"

Laurielle nodded in agreement.
"I am rather picky about the storybooks I read, but I do enjoy reading a book about health every once in a while. Because you can never stop learning, even on a subject that you believe you are most skilled with." She said thoughtfully.

Acan stopped, looking aside. " Yes, my Queen. He is but a boy, but of you wish to have him, he is already in your service. You have but to command him." Acan fidgeted a little, not wishing to look nervous. He knew what she was after, but had hoped there were still some soldier burrowing owls left. Obviously they had been decimated in the last battle.

"That and new improved techniques must be learned, I'm sure. There are constant advancements in the medical field. " He replied softly, as he opened the book and thumbed through the first few pages of the borrowed book.

Lillia nodded and sighed, thinking.
"Acan, I do not wish to command him to do what should be a guard's work, but if he turns out to be the only burrowing owl, I am not too sure if I have another option. I will try to avoid having to use him." She told him honestly.
"Now, you are dismissed, I must think about the decisions I am pressed to make."

( someone would have to make one. Burrowing owls can dig pretty well, and being owls, see and hear at crazy nuts well levels. And they are pretty tiny. They live around here. It is an interesting choice to make for the Queen altogether.)
