Crestfallen, Acan gently sets the nosegay on the receiving table by Jade's chamber door. Acan wasn't foolish enough to think his position merited anything of importance, so he made his way back to his gardening shed to gather tools for the day's work.

Vivian decided to go outside after a day of training and crying. She walked outside in the garden, muttering to herself nervously.

Jade walked through the castle to the library, she saw Lillia and raced past her. She climbed up the ladder to the top shelf and carried the book she picked in her talons up to the rafters, away from everyone. Jade transformed, and sat on the rafters reading her book.

Acan, after arranging his tools, went outside and turned into a terror bird. His huge claws could turn the soil as well as crush and hold down prey, and he used his dexterous feet to hoe and weed the garden, while snacking on any hapless rabbits or moles or any other garden pests. He was wary about approaching any lone females. He didn't want to scare anyone, and his 10 foot height was usually a deterrent for most.
