Dan fluttered down next to Magatha, coming back after a 2 week trek to find herbs and minerals for Magatha and for the medical practitioners within the castle. Before, when they were young, Magatha used to go with him when their children would stay with the chickens, and Magatha was not bent over with age. Now, Magatha could no longer bend over to pick the herbs and other items she used for her folk magic, nor could she wrap her fingers around the delicate stems, due to arthritis in her hands. She was grateful for her loving husband, with whom she shared her arts and secrets, a loving bond never broken by omission or lies. They had been together long enough to know everything about each other. Shifting into a spry old man in his eighties, he carefully removed a folded pack from his knapsack, unfolding it gently to reveal its contents to her. Magatha was pleased, clasping her hands with gratitude and excitement. " Thank you, love! I'm sorry you had to travel so far to find these, but it will be worth it, I promise!"
She gave him a loving kiss on the cheek, and Dan blushed like a schoolboy, pleased with her happiness.

Laurielle looked up when somebody entered.
"Close the door behind you, please." She said simply and continued working.
