Lyra settled in his embrace and sighed, closing her eyes briefly. "I do not want to see our kingdom as broken as the others were. They didn't expect to lose ether" She said quietly.

We will always be detached from it. I'm sorry you had to endure it alone." He said sincerely.

Acan finished up his dessert. He nudged Jeffrey, who was too busy talking to eat more than half of his dessert. "Acan, I wanna finish! Jus gimmie a second to finish this up?"
Acan sighed. He crossed his arms loosely and shifted his weight to one side, giving Jeffrey a sidelong glance.
Stuffing most of the dessert in his mouth, Jeffrey barely had the room to chew. After managing to get a few chunks swallowed down, he spluttered a bit, then stood up from his seat, gathering his and his master's plate to take to the kitchen before they both went back outside to do evening chores.
