It's Friday, the 13th... and setting eggs

Hi Everyone!
I'm so glad to read all the happy news from you all. I'm down to 17 out of 30 eggs. 13 were clear. I think 2 might be quitters, but I'm leaving them in there for now.

I've tried to do everything right this time. These are shipped eggs, so I left the turner off for the first 5 days. I didn't want to handle them, so I was being cautious by shining the flashlight into the top of the eggs while they sat in the turner. So much for cautious, I dropped the window and chipped a dent in one of the eggs. Of course it wasn't a clear one, but one with a little embryo jumping all around

I remembered reading something about it on the forum, so I searched it right away. I dribbled some candle wax over the dent. I didn't have much hope, but it's still alive. I hope it will make it to hatch. Time will tell

I enjoy reading everyone's updates. Good luck to all!!

I did a candling last night and found that all of them but three died. Two weren't fertile, and four died about day 7. About 5 died at day 2 or 3.

Out of the three left only one I am positive that it is still alive, the shells on the other two are still quite dark so I can't tell for sure.

I had about 14 guinea eggs in there.

im so sorry Chick123600 i have everything possible crossed for your 3 remaining eggs xxx

xxx sadly it happens sometimes.

ive just candled mine for the last time day 11 for my Quail but tbh couldnt really see much now how small the eggs are they are almost completely dark sometimes i see a little movement but cant really tell so from this time onwards its hope for the best xxx

yet saying that i am completely amazed at how good my incubator is i got worried the other day as my partner (thinking he was doing the best as he had opened the kitchen window) moved the bator over to the other side of the kitchen amd then procceded to cook on the stove and overn right next to it, if that had been my old bator the temp would of sky rocketed but this was perfect no flux in temp at all and im very carful with 3 thermometers and 2 hydrometers in there for the slightest change.

well i wish everyone a good hatch and i will keep you posted not long for me now :D

Candled mine last night and all seems to be fine still have 3 I'm kinda iffy about, Hope my luck holds, none of last bunch hatched Hubby helped with that one so I'm blaming it on him. lol Good luck to everyone

OH well here i go

Oh wow, I guess I joined the wrong Friday 13th hatch a long. All of the action is over here. Do you mind if I join you's? I set 38 bantam cochin eggs on the 13th. I live in Georgia and the weather here has been crazy too. Heat on one day, and the air conditioner on the next. My incubator is not holding steady temps either and I think I may have cooked my eggs.

Hi Everyone!

I'm not setting eggs or anything but I've been following your thread. I would subscribed but it doesn't work so if I post something I can bring up "My Posts" and find this thread.

Good luck everyone
