ok, I guess I am forgetting they are farm/barnyard animals, also I'd love to have a portable comforter :)
Yup, and their feathers are partially waterproof as well. You just want very good cross ventilation so that when their breath causes humidity, it has somewhere to escape. If there’s nowhere for it to go, it will settle on their combs and cause frostbite (toes seem to not be as much of an issue, since their feathers cover them as they roost). And I say this all the time, but remember chickens survived long before humans tamed them and started caring for them and building them coops. And no water in the coop overnight!!
 
We have four chickens in out coop and as far as we know no ventilation problems.

this is our first winter with chickens and the younger ones first winter as well,
