I took Brew to the town landing/boat ramp at the end of the street earlier for his birthday walk instead of our usual super short walks around the corner or barely down the street LOL

You can do it! I've found a slow and steady buildup works best for me. And once you have a mileage base built up, you can maintain it for other events.I ran/walked up a small "mountain" (really a hill) today with a friend, which was fun. We ended up walking most of the way up and running down. I think it was about three miles total.
I'm currently training to run a 10k, which is six miles. So far I've gotten up to five without any issue, I think I'll go up to six next week.![]()

So far in 2026, I'm averaging 10,560 steps per day. That's pretty good considering the many times I have had to walk with a wind chill below 0F (-18C) and blowing and drifting snow.
