It's going to be super cold.

Very glad to hear your mom is okay. My brother-in-law also had a heart attack last week, his second. He is only 44, but he had his first when he was 35 and it was followed by a triple bypass. This time he had 1 stent put in. Take care and travel safely. You'll be in our thoughts.

Thanks everyone. Getting away for me is tough because although the wife has helped me do chores several times, her actually doing all the pea chores and dog chores is asking a lot from her.It takes me slightly more than an hour each nite depending on which nite(my breeder aged birds only gets fed every other day,but gets fresh water nightly) and carrying water thru snow drifts isn't easy for her since she's both short and blonde,,sorry had to add that one. I do miss southern cooking, mainly cornbread and collard greens so if nothing else I should be able to get my fill for awhile.
I'm going to call her again tonite and see if she would reconsider some fancy yard ornaments. Getting some Opal siver pieds and Bronze silver pied chicks could make it worth her effort as the prices I've seen. Mt Hope is the end of this month too and I had considered going but then again, more pens to rapidly build when I get home.Coincidently I got 3 eggs today from my Purple pen. They always start so darn early then are one of the first groups to quit when everyone else is hard at it.
Margaret8,,it's the simple things that brings me the most reward. We're selling our 36'-5th wheel camper this spring and since we spend so much time with our peas,we've decided to build a fire pit out by Pea Palace East edition for cooking steaks and roasting marshmallows a few nites a week this summer.Along with a super cold glass of Blackberry Merlot, and watching the males in late evening do their happy dance in full splendor is priceless here. We'll miss camping but still enjoy the campfires at home.

OMG! It's like 49 degrees outside.

We're wearing shorts and running around like idiots trying to get some of the yard cleaned up. It hasn't been this warm for like 3 months.

And we get to turn the clocks ahead too, I'm so excited....too bad they are calling for snow again Thursday!

Is it snowing where you are?

-Kathy

No, we actually had a great day. Got into the low 50's, felt like summertime(almost). It's back down to the 30's now, but tomorrow is supposed to be like today, so I'm happy. Next snow is forecast for Wed. night into Thurs. morning.

It is 33• here now and we had freezing rain and snow earlier. For the next week or so we will be in the 60s and 70s! I've got about 30 guina eggs in the incubator! A little earlier for them to be laying, oh well.
