When DH went out of town for work 2 months ago, he brought me back a beautiful bracelet. It was about 1/2 inch too small so a few weeks ago I took it to the jeweler and an extender put on it. I watched him do the work, carefully sealing the links.

Today I realized that I had not seen the bracelet in 2 or 3 days. I wouldnt wear it every day, just now and then if I was going shopping or something. The only thing that I can figure is that the extender came loose, the bracelt slipped off and I never noticed...

I have searched the house up and down and its no where to be found. DH is going to be crushed. It is the 1st piece of surprise jewelry that he ever bought me and of course the clerk left the price tag on it so I know how valuable it is monetarily also. Otherwise I might be tempted to run out and get another one. But he would notice a chunk this big missing out of our check book.

Do I tell him before he asks me about it? Or just hope that he never remembers that he bought it for me? =/

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be honest. I am old enough to be able to tell you that deception leads nowhere but to more deception. I am sure he will be just as sad as you are about it and comfort you too!

Years ago I lost a beautiful French wristwatch on a Christmas morning duck hunt. I'm sure the pin that held the leather band on worked loose and it fell into about 3 or 4 feet of water and muck under the blind. I didn't realize it until I was driving home. My wife was in France at the time seeing her mom, (who gave me the watch). I told her as soon as I had looked everywhere else. I continued to look for it on other hunts and even after the season when the water was lower, but never found it.

I'm glad I was honest about it. When my wife came back from her trip, guess what she brought me.

I would probably tell.If you are like me he will see you looking anyway. When I am looking for something it will go on constantly for days even when I tell myself to stop I will just start looking again. Maybe it will turn up! Everything dh bought me sits in a safe.Lately I just tell him to buy me some topsoil or a garden tool!

What a shame. That's so frustrating. I've been looking for an antique locket my grandmother gave me that had my grandfather's picture in it for about five years now.
It's better to tell him and hopefully he will help you look for it. What if you don't tell him and he finds it somewhere, and thinks you didn't even miss it? Or that you don't wear it because you don't like it?

check in the fridge/freezer...
i friend is a house keeper and that's where she found a lady's very expensive diamond bracelet...it was actually under the ice bucket.

so sorry! i hate loosing things. hope it turns up
