Hi everybody! I'm looking forward to becoming part of this online chicken community.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We first got our chickens in March 2023. We are first-time chicken stewards.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 chickens, that we raised from chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two cinnamon queens, a buff Orpington, and a barred rock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love all of the little chicken noises that they make!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Spending time with family, gardening, and playing hymns on the piano or organ (hence the username, which is inspired by the hymn, "O Little Flock, Fear Not the Foe")
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I have 2 small kids and 2 cats. I am in graduate school for organic chemistry.
