It depends upon where and how you are "ordering" them. I get mine from a couple of local feed stores. They are placing their orders with the hatcheries right now. Once their orders are placed then they will put together a list of what breeds are coming in on what dates. Then they allow you to reserve what you want. The main feed store I buy from has multiple orders coming in each week from Mid-Feb until late May. The biggest shipping weeks are the first three weeks of April. This is when I will be reserving my chicks for. I am anxiously awaiting the list. Last time I checked with them they said it will be ready around Jan 15. I am going to call in a couple of days to check on the status of the list. I will also be checking with a couple of other feed stores latter this week for their lists. (They might have something my primary feed store does not have.)

My local feed store just got a shipment in from Ideal, and of course I had to buy 3 more EE pullets, and a lone black silkie today.

I just ordered from Ideal today for delivery 1/15...

20 Easter Eggers
15 RI Reds
15 Barred Rocks

And Penedesenca eggs just went into the 'bator.

The time is totally now in NorCal.

i just ordered from Cackle yesterday! 25 Salmon Faves and 10 BJG! due the 3rd of march. can/t wait for the cotton balls to arrive

I just got my catalog from Ideal. They don't have the breeds I want yet so I'll have to get on a wait list. I'm thinking about ordering ducks this year too so i'll have to coordinate that. Then I have to figure out what chickens to get rid of to make room.

I'm wanting to get a few more EE's but I'm thinking I might be better off getting them at the feed store where I can see feather and leg color before I buy

I ordered last fall for Oct delivery. Raising them through the winter and they will be ready to start laying in the spring. didn't want to wait a whole year for eggs.

o.k I put my order into IDEAL today for

25 RIR
25 Barred Rocks

They said if I choose 1/13 for delivery the birds only cost .99 each st run or 1.30 females - I chose to go with that date it saves about $40

I thought if I ordered during the first week in January from Sand Hill Preservation I would be able to get what I wanted for a March delivery... BUT NO! I cannot get Delawares or Dorkings until JUNE!

I will have to get Buckeyes and Speckled Sussex in Marhc instead, and another box in JUNE.

Everybody get busy and place your order or you will not get them when you want.
