Sorry, I don't get it?
Featherhead is, well...a featherhead.Sorry, I don't get it?![]()
Hello fellow bird parents!
I'm a 22yo lady with two beautiful black tailed buff Japanese Bantams, a 4-5yo hen who doesn't really have a name but is amicably called 'fattie' and a 3yo rooster whom I have named Samuel Pepys, but the other members of my family disagree with that name and choose to call him 'hooligan' instead due to his rowdy behaviour. Mr Pepys hatched from our eggs. We used to have five chickens, but we lost two hens and one rooster over the past few months. (Really upsetting situations on which I may elaborate at some point in the future.)
To be honest, I'm not sure why my parents decided to get them in the first place, but they've become very spoiled birdos and we all love them to bits. The hen, and one of the hens who passed away, is really snuggly and love to sit with me for scritches in the evenings. I'm definitely the most bird obsessed member of our family! Unfortunately, I study abroad, so I don't get to see them all year round, but I cherish the time I get to spend with them.
Aside from all that, a little bit about me: I just finished an undergraduate degree in art history and am currently looking to do a postgrad in museum studies. It'll be more of a pass-time to decide where I really want to go from here, but I would love to continue in academia. At this point, my primary interests are German Romanticism, 20th century Western fashion (I collect and sew vintage fashion!) and art in Nazi Germany (out of fascination for their use of art and architecture as propaganda and to create a certain image, not out of support or agreement with their ideologies!). Any other sewists and art historians on here?![]()
