(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am not! My father actually taught me all sorts of things regarding animal husbandry growing up. One of which was raising Barred Rock Chickens and Bob White Quail from eggs.

I know I can learn a lot more, but at least it's not my first rodeo!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I currently have 4 Orpington chicks.

(3) What breeds do you have?

 Orpington

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

The connections to the chickens. The fact that it keeps me active and gives me a reason to get out. It really helps my struggles with depression and whatnot, so being accountable to them to help them thrive, helps make me thrive as well. Even if I fight it, lol. It's easy to put their care at a high level of importance and thus follow suit.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I craft all sorts of things and game on PC when Im not doing something with animals.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I'm 43, married, no children, 3 cats and retired.

Just moved to Tenn from California.

I am an open book, feel free to ask.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I found you guys on Google when I was researching Orpingtons. I dont normally join forums but finally did when I saw how active you are and how knowledgeable you are.
