Your mom can email me if she wants. I am also a mom (I am 46 and have 2 boys in their 20's). The duck is a production Indian Runner and NO a wild duck. If she was released, she wouldn't last long before something ate her. She might be able to fly a little, but not enough to avoid a predator.
