So my partridge silkie baby was the one of the seven that hatched that i was desperate to be a pullet. I brought him/her to fair last week, and being around the roos i suppose brought something out in him. When i brought him to the fairgrounds he had a very understated comb, and a sweet attitude. Brought him home on friday, his comb was HUGE (well, compared to how big it was before) and then this morning i went out and heard a strangled awk-awk sound. There he was, roo stance and all, trying to crow. I suppose he needs a girlfriend now, cause i love the partridge color.

How old is he? I've got two (9 weeks) that I know are roos, but they haven't made a single attempt at crowing yet. My nephew likes to come over and play rooster crows off of his phone, but it doesn't get the boys excited or anything.

I'm sorry he's a "he" but you're going to keep him? It's cute to me when they're learning to crow

Of course i'll keep him! He is a real sweetheart, he falls asleep on me, perches on my shoulder, snuggles with me... and attacks anyone else who tries to touch him
