My blue slate (lilac, lavender?) tom gobbled for the first time today.

I had to ask a friend if that's what the sound was! I believe they are about 10 weeks old, I don't remember exactly when I got them.

Is that a normal age for gobbling? They, the tom especially, seem to have doubled in size in the past week!

ETA: After searching on my computer, I think I've figured out they are between 9 and 10 weeks old. When I got them they were less than a week, but not day-olds. I loaded pics of them on my computer for the first time on April 25th, which was most likely the day after I got them as babies.

Yes that is when young males discover their "voice". My ten week olds gobble when they are startled or quarreling with each other. Sounds like a high pitched gobble rather than the deep thunderous gobble of the mature tom.
