Congratulations!
My town will never let chickens in. Mine were removed back in October this year and I miss them terribly. I was fortunate to have a friend take them and add them to her flock of silkies and they are all having a wonderful time and I still get my eggs, but I really miss having them in the backyard.
For those that didn't know a complaint came in about my chickens in Sept., I figured it was my neighbor who had decided to try and sell thier home, despite the fact they gave me permission to get them when I started....anyway, so here we are in December, my neighbor decided to not move and took the house off the market, and my daughter and I discoverd on Monday that the person behind me has chickens! Many chickens and Roosters. There is a patch of woods between us, but we heard them and sure enough, we saw them when we went and looked! I am so tempted to get more, just 2 but this time if the town comes by, I can get heavily fined since I've already been formally warned and denied through the town meetings, etc. Ugh so frustrating.

Could you try to get an ordinance passed? Then get chickens. Or I would actually get 2-3 and be very quite. But that makes me mad that the neighbors made you get rid of them because they were selling...why did the other neioghbors not get in trouble? Perhaps get an idea of the # of people in town that would support your attempt to get an ordinace passed. The more ammo you have the better and the more support too! Good luck and get some chickens!
