OK, one of the things I'm looking forward to once I have the chickens is wasting less of the food that's not useful for humans but perfectly fine for animals.
I'm sure they'd have enjoyed the outer leaves from the cabbage I shredded for the cole slaw tonight, and the rest of the hamburger bun that the cat thought was a toy, but how about the meat that was clinging to the bone from the roasted Boston Butt after I trimmed the last of the human-accessible stuff for lunch?
Would they have been able to make good use of the thin layer of meat that couldn't be detatched with a knife or would it have just sat there attracting flies?
