Update...
I tried again to get the lady to take her chicks, and also offered to reimburse her. She declined and said she had filed a claim with the post office. So we will try to rehome a few, build a bigger coop, and really dive in to chicken keeping

We have Buff Orpington, White Rock, Austrolorp, Barred Rock, Silver and Gold Wyandotte, Dominique, and Buckeye chicks!
