Ok, so here's the 'new plan'.

I already had the big dog house. It's 4' x 4' and still sturdy and dry inside.

I also already had the camper shell - which is from a full size pickup... soooo 8' long??

I recently was gifted with several rolls of used wire (3"x2" spaces), about 1/2 of a roll of the same wire brand new, and 20 landscaping timbers. CHICKEN LOOT SCORE!

I also have this HUGE roll of rubber matting. Actually, it's a conveyer belt from a gravel quary... It's easy to cut but tough stuff - not sure what I can use it for but pieces of it have been great as stall mats.

NOW... just need to make a plan to put it all together into a small coop, with an 8'covered run.

Here's the site (I hope). It's inside the fenced in yard, so the dogs will be a deterant to daytime predators. It's near enough to the house that I can run a cord for lights, elect. fence, etc. and a hose. It's next to the summer garden site. It is, unfortunately, shaded on the east and south sides.... and open on the north and west...... but I think those will be easy enough to 'fix'.

Thank you. I'm hoping to be able to house 4-6 hens, but I think the dog house is going to be too small for more than 3 or 4.
If I can figure out how, I want to have a couple of nest boxes pokeing out the side of the house - to allow more roost room.

Would you believe that I'm already looking for materials to make a tractor ... so that the chickens that I don't even have yet... will have more room .....
