Mine haven't been out in a week or more. I have a broody with chicks in one coop by herself and she is dying to get outside, but when DH opens the little door, she looks out and turns back into her warm little coop with her babies. She and the babies will be inside for at least a month before this weather breaks and she is used to going out with her kids in less than a week after they hatch.

My birds all have ample room, but they sure don't like being indoors.

Mine took a few hours this morning. then I put fresh greens out and that did it. For the first storm we had just after Christmas they wouldn't come out for anything. That one took them a few days to get used to.

We got sixteen inches of snow today and decided to keep the girls inside their warm snuggly coop. Who would want to walk through that, especially a chicken?

Mine have a roof over their run so there is only a dusting in there. Otherwise they probably wouldn't come out until spring!
