Well...I have always wanted cochin bantams....but that is just my personal choice. I have a barred rock bantam and she is the SWEETEST thing. You can see a picture of her on this forum...she is the one perched on my arm, half-asleep. I really love the barred rocks but I think it would be nice to have a Pekin or Cochin bantam

I know, right? How could someone not want a bantam?  

Pekin bantams are Cochin bantams, I wish I was British but sadly, I am not . I just read a book that called them Pekin bantams so...I call them Pekin bantams!

Decent egg production would be nice, but that's not really practical with bantams...

Do you chase them or something? I saw my barred rock following me practically saying "Hey, woman! Pick me up! I command you!!!"

If eggs is what you want in a bantam maybe a road island red bantam. Pekin bantams are sweet, broody, good mothers, but aren't the best layers.

No, they run away from me. Maybe it's because I execute dominion over them constantly...


What about silkies? Aside from being cute little balls of fluff, are there any major pro's or con's to them?

Cons: Look terrible when wet, don't lay very many eggs...Maybe 195 a year or more than a year and still 195...

Pros: Adorable, goes broody a lot, (I heard they are good mothers, not so sure.), tames easily.
