i have had to help 5 out of the shell, 3 pipped, no zip, and the other two couldn't pip. i pipped for them, and peeled the outer membrane back and moistened the inner membrane. they were shrink wrapped, probably from fluctuating humidity. the first one i didn't think he would make it, this was about 11 last night. i was able to get him all the way out of the shell, his umbilical cord was bleeding a bit, i put corn starch on it, wrapped him in toilet paper. i got up at 1:30am to check on the bator, he was up moving around and two more had hatched on their own. thank god he made it. i thought i may have killed him. i have one in a half shell still, it's yoke not absorbed yet. i am keeping it moist, it's chirping every now and then. the other three i helped, that would't zip, i was able to get them totally out of shell. they are still in the incubator. hopefully they will be ok. i have 4 eggs with no sounds or pips yet. gonna let them go for a while. this is exciting and frustrating at the same time.
