Well, it happened.
Our Orpingtons are just about ready to start living outside (we ended up with three roos in the bunch including the derpy scissor beaked bird but, that's another story). But, we stopped into Tractor Supply & they were trying to get rid of chicks so they didn't have to come in on Easter.
10 chicks for a dollar was too much for my wife to resist the fuzzy, penguin looking, Wyandotte's.
Long story short, 6 chicks turned into 16!
Here's a picture of the Orpingtons (the darker one is the derpy bird) & our new acquisitions enjoying some mush.
Looks like I'll be building larger coop
One question/concern I had. I saw some blood in the baby's brooder. It was not bloody poop but just blood on the paper towels.
I don't notice any injuries & no one is dead or looking like they are having issues.
I assume there's no cause for concern & stuff happens sometimes?
