as far as insurance, pregnancy is generally not treated as pre-existing. I didn't have insurance last time until 16 weeks, and didn't have any problems.

Boy, thats a relief. Dh is on the phone with his human resource people now to find out if our coverage starts this week, or next week. As soon as I have the date I'm setting up our first ob appt. A friend who sees the same ob advised me not to let human resource, or the ins. company know yet, but to call the dr's office and have them investigate whats covered..etc to keep from tipping off the ins. company, just in case.

I'm glad to hear that you were covered even in your 16 wk. DH almost didn't make the job switch because we didn't want to go those three months without ins., but am I ever glad now. He increased our income by about half and its going to be needed now!

***********Update*************

Heres an update. I've posted notes the past couple of days, but for those that haven't caught it, here is whats happening.

We have both let it sink in and are genuinely excited. I feel a little guilty to have been so upset in the first place. We started telling people yesterday. At first we told a couple of people that we knew were going to be happy for us. That was fun. Then we told the boys and they didn't believe us. It took forever to convince them. I keep telling Bethany we are going to have baby and she just keeps pointing at herself and frowning, which is her way of saying "But I'm the baby"

We moved on telling folks that we weren't sure how they were going to react and have been very surprised. EVERYONE is excited about it. 20 people have already asked to be at the ultrasound, that isn't even scheduled yet. I don't know how many people they will let in that little room, but I don't think its going to be that many. We haven't told my MIL yet, but I've left that up to dh. He told me about an hour ago he was going to call her himself. So, I'm just going to let him handle that and I hope she is happy about it, but if she isn't its not going to dampen my spirits about it. I have one friend that I am looking so forward to calling later. She is the one that just had the grandbaby. She is going to fall out of her chair.

As I said earlier, we are busy today trying to get insurance information straight and then I'll be going in to see my OB.

I can't begin to tell all of you how much your being here for me as meant.

When we found out I was pregnant AGAIN (the 7th child) I was SO sure my mother would be very ho-hum and disgruntled about it. SHe REALLY surprised me with her excitement over another grandbaby and when it turned out to be a boy she was even more overjoyed. Sadly she didn't get to know him real well before she passed away suddenly December 7th of last year.

So hopefully your MIL will understand what a joyful thing this is and will relish what God has given all of you because you just never know what tomorrow will bring....

That's often the way with surprises. They seem so much worse than things you are at least "kind of" expecting.

I'm so happy that you have such a large, and growing, number of people who are happy with and for you! LOL, I'd love to know how many people actually are allowed in for the ultrasound myself!

we don't tell my mil anymore. When she got mad last time because she didn't know until my second trimester, my hubbie told her that she's never been happy, nor had a positive thing to say about any of our pregnancies, so he's chosen to just not tell her anymore.
