I manage to hatch a pekin partridge bantam, my wife fell in love with it straight away, they cuddle up most nights and watch tv. I took this as a green light and now have more eggs in the incubator than you can shake a stick at, she knows about the ones in the incubator but not about the ones that are winging their way here thanks to eBay and the Royal Mail service. Might find myself sleeping in the hen house soon. Oh well , worth it.
 
Yeah, it helps if you get your more sensible half on board as well

Welcome and happy chicken everything to you. I got "chicken fever" a year ago and like the others have said whenever I see a breed I don't have I want it. I enjoy a colorful egg basket-brown, blue/green, pink, cream, chocolate. It's like Easter each day I gather eggs!
 
When can you tell you have gone ULTIMATE chicken nutty? When you would prefer the dh to move out rather than risk lives of chicks by putting them outside when they aren't ready! :-) Hey, it was his suggestion to put 'the money' in the house when 2 heat lamps in outdoor brooder wasn't enough to prevent a smothering;-)
