I've gone done and caught me ANOTHER varmit! (No pics)

we use to bury them but it was getting to the point of running out of places to bury them. So we now just take them to the back of the property where its wooded and just dump them out let nature take care of it.

YAY! I came home late last night to discover that I had caught another 'coon!

To quote the song that I sing every time I bait that trap...

"Don't you wanna come
Don't you wanna ride
Don't you wanna be there by my side
Hand in hand
Holding on to
The sweet salvation
That's waiting for me and you"

Sweet salvation for that 'coon meaning meeting its Maker...

Meanwhile I'll be listening to very loud music so I don't hear the gunshots...

Had the same problem... and every time I buried it, something would come over and dig it up!!! Thing is, possum must not be tasty because those were the only graves never touched and bodies never eaten. They all now get tossed in "death" where nature takes it's course.

The depression era makes you a little older than me, but I have trapped my share of coon and hunted them for over fifty years. And yes I still roast up the ones dumb enough to come around my chickens. Sometimes the trap gets them and sometimes the dog puts them up a tree. The grand kids love the caps I make from the hide.
For any of you that need any information on trapping, go to trapperman.com. That site is only about trapping by and for trappers, they will give anyone the straight story about how to get a predator of any kind.
