Sorry to interrupt the flow of the thread, but by 'hen feathered' you mean that you can't sex the chickens by looking at the feathers like with most? Is the only way to sex them the 'crows or lays' method?Hi there, hope you are enjoying BYC!
I agree, that's a cockerel. Most breeds will start to sport their gender differentiated saddle feathers starting around 12 weeks..
