They are just so cool! Very prehistoric looking! You are so lucky to have them........I would love one. I wonder if they stay friendly as they grow to adulthood.

we have 4 now
Two are grown other 2 are around 6 months old
With our grown ones the male is the friendlyist and the female don't want anything to with us unless we have bread. The male loves to be scratched and loved on. hes 15 years old shes 3 years old. both of them fight each other all the time. the younger ones we bought at an auction for $40 ea. They have not been handled much.

I want Emus!!!!

I've been researching them and have already planted a bug in DH's ear. I worry about their long life (that didn't sound right did it???). I guess I mean I worry about being there for them MANY years down the road.

off topic a bit.

My mom was born in norway as my grandfeather was stationed over there with the Candaian Navy for some reason. Would love to go and vist some day.
