if you want them to all be together, you will more than likely need to close off one of the coops, I've just introduced 8 hens and a roo, the first night they perched outside. I had to pick them up and put them in the coop and on the roosts, 2nd night, they were all in the coop had to pick them up and put them on the roosts, then tonight everyone was in there, all but 4 of the hens were on the roosts, I had one hen in a nest box and the other 3 were standing in front of her like little body guards. All of them got put on the roosts, if I find them tomorrow in the nest boxes, they will start getting blocked off till they figure out the roosts are where they belong.
