I've quit smoking

It takes 21 days for the human body to get over the addiction of nicotine,it is as addictive as heroin.I have tried to quit several times but always failed, most i went was 9 days.I wish you the best, only 13 more days and it gets easier.

That may be the physiological timeline, but I know people 30 years later still getting over it!

That is the time it takes for the body to get over the physical addiction.

That's what I mean by physiological timeline. But the psychological timeline can be a lot longer.

In the long run, the physical addiction is the easiest part of it to beat. It is the psychological addiction that is the part that is the hardest to beat and one that stays with you. It is a habitual thing too. There are so many triggers that automatically make you reach for a smoke. After you eat, light a cig. When you start the car, light a smoke. When you take a break from doing chores, reach for a butt. Until you can re-train your mind to ignore the triggers they will stay with you.
I quit for 5 years and one day, I let one of my triggers beat me and I bought a pack of cigarettes. That was 15 years ago. I am still smoking.
Don't give up and don't give in. I am pulling for you.
