I've started mealworms--! Do I risk tossing out beetle eggs if I toss out dried potatoes???

Hi! Well, the beetle stage is the most creepy to me---but I did it. I have a 3 drawer mealworm 'factory'!

!

Some of the beetles are at least 4 weeks, and I have seen no egg activity. I have read lots on these threads; so I know they are small, sticky and hard to see early on.....

So, I am hesitant to throw out these pieces of dried up potato slices that litter the shelf!
