I have two Silkies that seem to have symptoms of gapeworm.
I definitely need to treat them, and will probably treat my other 4 adult chickens, just in case.

I bought Ivermectin 1.87% paste. I'm unclear on the dosage, and the method of treatment?
What is the best way to treat chickens? This is obviously my first time at this!

Help? lol Thanks in advance!

I recommend you return the horse wormer, it would be too much for silkies to handle even with a "BB" size amount of paste. It could possibly cause internal problems or even death from overdose, even from a small dose. Return it and exchange it for Safeguard (fenbendazole) equine paste. Fenbendazole will kill many types of worms including gapeworm. Dosage for your silkies is a small "pea" size amount of paste given orally. It might be best to put it on a small piece of bread and give a piece to each silkie. Keep them seperated when you do this though, they will try to steal each others piece of bread, then you wont know who got properly wormed or not. For your adult hens, dosage is a regular "pea" size amount given orally to each chicken. You can apply it like the silkies if you wish. Redose them in the same manner in 10 days, to kill remaining larva and end the worms lifecycle. Dispose of eggs for a grand total of 24 days straight.
