IVERMECTIN for Gape Worm Can someone help with dosage please?

Ivermectin rocks! It also kills most all types of worms in dogs including heartworm but not tapeworm.
It will kill mites and lice on chickens also.
I think Storey's just doesn't want to be sued.
**Not in HERDING DOG breeds***
I know this was posted a while ago, but thought worth mentioning. Many in the herding breeds are deathly allergic to Ivermectin products. Although it isn't ALL collies, aussies, etc, it is a LARGE amount. You can have your vet test your dog for specific allergies for it. Yes, it is in heart worm meds for dogs...BUT one should talk to their vet about this issue. Even if you have a friend who had no problems giving it to their herding dog, doesn't mean you won't.

I just found this and would like to respond for anyone who may pull it up in the future. I have showline Marans, I use ivermectin pour on hog wormer 6cc to one gallon of water and leave it out 24 hours then remove and give regular water again. I repeat this in 7 to 10 days to get the new egg hatchouts before they mature enough to lay more worm eggs. It works very well for many kinds of worms and has never hurt my chickens. Eggs need to be held from human consumption for one week and do not butcher for meat for one month. This receipe was given to me by the breeder, who shows also, that I bought my pullets from originally. Lord knows he wouldn't give his chickens something that would hurt them as some are worth $500 and up.My vet also recommends Ivermectin. Be sure to get the 5mg per ml. same as cc pour on for swine. This is carried by most feed and supply stores, I get mine from Tractor Supply. Hope this helps someone. I am forever amazed at the amount of misinformation given out by people based on a mere opinion.

No misinformation from me, mine is from experience. Ivermectin is ineffective as a wormer in poultry. You'll learn in time, like I did,

Ivermectin is safe for birds when given at a reasonable dose, but at the safe dose it's not very effective, that is not misinformation. Better to use something like fenbendazole (Safeguard) or albendazole (Valbazen).
