Good morning. We purchased a tube of "Ivermectin Liquid for Horses - oral solution" from our local feed supply. They explained the off label issue and toxicity issues.
That is all the info I could get.
I'm now wanting to make sure I have the correct product to apply topically.
Is this the correct Ivermectin to apply topically?
Thanks!!

Unfortunately, ivermectin is losing efficacy in chicken to over use

Parasites are becoming resistant to it. This is why you are supposed to switch wormers each time. But honestly I don't worm and haven't for over 5 years with no issues at all. I personally would only do so when it is clear it is needed.

Thanks. I was using it to treat mites, only. We've thoroughly dusted the coop with DE and sulphur.

If you get the ivermectin 5 mg per ml pour on, to the back of the neck over the spine, you can apply 0.1 ml per every 2 pounds of weight once and again in 14 days to treat mites. Permethrin garden dust can also be used once and repeated in 7 days to get the mites, and later the newly hatched ones. All facilities should be treated after removing bedding. Permethrin spray may be used for treating the coop.
