I like the colors, too, and if I ever get back to painting, I'll finish the last piece of trim on the opposite side to the one in the pic, LOL. May get too cold and I'll have to wait till spring.

Ooh, Miss Fern will be in such trouble if she comes home with tats! She probably thinks I won't notice them under her feathers.

Well, Miss Fern got her wings clipped yesterday. She finally did it--she flew out of the pen and over the perimeter fence, where she could be eaten by the neighbor's dog or a passing coyote or fox. She was out for almost an hour I think before we found her. Rather than try to string something over the wide pen, dodging trees in the middle, we opted to clip her wings. She's only the second bird in the whole time we've had chickens to get a clipping.
