Hi everyone!
We are new to the site and new to taking care of a flock. Currently, we have a flock of 15 hens and 1 rooster. They are all between 38 and 40 weeks old. Rocky (our rooster) is very brave and attentive to his ladies. He is still trying to figure out how to best perform his mating dance so the ladies will except him.
We just rescued 4 young bachelor roosters that r around 8 weeks old. They r still finding their place in the pecking order but seem to be pretty friendly so far.
We have 2 ducks that we rescued about 2 weeks ago. they are leary about our great dane and so hesitate to go exploring and I don't think they were ever exposed to water so they refuse to stay in the pond.
We also have 46, 4 week old, chicks. They r growing fast and we can't wait to find out what breed and gender each of them are.
It is so relaxing to just sit on a blanket in the yard and watch all our feather babies interact with each other, scavenge and scratch, explore and even come investing us and sit on our blanket with us.
