OK, this is an area I have no understanding of whatsoever. Can you explain to me how you take that batt and turn it into a workable textile, while ensuring the feathers incorporate? Like do spin it from here and voila! thread? Or what?

Pretty much. You'll take thinner straps from the batt (laid flat, not rolled like it is now) and you use a spinning wheel or a drop spindle to add twist and thin the strip out even more until you get the size you want. Then you put 2/3/4 of those single strands and wrap them together to make yarn (or thread if you can go that thin).

Certain fibers have certain limits for how thin or thick they can make themselves though

Went to a fiber sale today, just to buy, not as vendors this time. Took grandma's new puppy with us for some sensitivity work.

I got stuff too, I'll post pictures tomorrow when I unpack. Spent a total of 8 hours in the car driving

Working on deconstructing some braids into lambs tails today. Got about a pounds worth done yesterday, going to aim for the rest (about 2 pounds) to be done today. Have about 9 braids left to dye too and I need to work on some more Batts too. I've just been a bit low inspirationwise for those, but I got a few ideas yesterday while making the tails so I have at least 2, maybe 3 ideas. It's crunch time though, our sale is in about 2 weeks and I'll be out of comission for at least 2 days before then, possibly 3.

Ugh, can't find my blue sparkles. They got moved when we were setting up a spare bedroom last month and I put them in 'a safe spot'.

Also stabbed myself with Nifty, one of my carder tools. 0/10, would not recommend. Not much more painful though than when i accidentally tried to impale my finger on the brush yesterday though.
