Jack is a Jerk.

That's why I'm wondering if it's a common breed problem. Do Black Shoulders tend to be aggressive? :idunno

I don't know, but my current one was hand raised as a pet and is very tame and friendly, he's about 5 years old now. He eats snacks out of my hand all the time. He has 5 hens too. I think I just got lucky though. I didn't hand raise him, but the gentleman I got him from could carry him on his shoulder. I've had several BS's, I do think it's them protecting their territory. I have a turkey like that now and he was hand raised by me. It's funny though, the pecking order has changed, believe it or not, a guinea rules the free range roost of three big turkey's. So I don't worry about him anymore. I hope your BS calms down some, peacock spurs don't feel good.
