A pip is a section of shell that they crack & push up slightly... you will definitely see it when you get your first one... espescially if you have had your eyes glued to your incubator as I have had mine these last few days!!!

it's really easy to see with my dark brown eggs, cause it seems to usually be a small triangle piece that they poke out and you see the bright white of a missing hunk...
and oddly, it seems to always happen on top! I have NO idea why that is, seems like it should be just anywhere the chick points to, but... it's not!
once they start rocking, it seems like just a few hours to a day before they pip, and then they zip (meaning they chip a ring around the top of the shell, to take the top off and get out!), and then, they fall out... LOL! a wet mess... :) but it's not long before they dry and chirp til you can't stand any more chirping! LOL
oh, and when they rock, they usually start chirping too! so listen!!! it's SOOO cool!

Third egg pipping! the second one for Group 3 !

Harder to see this one... but if you look diagonally east south east on the egg from the bottom point of the N there is a slight disturbance in the line of the X !!

No, they were laid that day so they will be fresh for sure. It should get there tomorrow or Friday, I just sent you the tracking number via PM. Good Luck!!
