Anyone know how loud a baby chick in the shell could sound?
No. I monitor development & lockdown when I see internal pips or hear peeping. The ones that I have left in lockdown way before they were ready tend to end up too fat or stuck to the shell & can't turn to pip & zip properly.
Sorry, didn't mean to offend. I was just stating what worked for me.every egg I expect to hatch at lock down...hatch
Quote: listen....your getting a lot of info from people that do things different than what is suggested...they may have some experience and do things according to their personal experience but in general...
at lock down raise the humidity and lock down the incubator ( don't open it) until after they hatch...if you think your going to need to add water try to place a piece of sponge beneath a vent hole and use a straw to wet the sponge through the vent...
if your new to hatching and don't know from your own experience what to expect just follow the guidelines very closely
it is nerve racking....just try to breath and let the little chick do what it needs to do![]()
uh oh.. I put my eggs on lock down last night (day 20) some looked ready but no internal pip. some didn't look quite ready. I was freaking out cuz I forgot to put on lockdown on the 19th day. What do I do now? Day 21 and I got nothing. I haven't lifted the lid at all today. Ya'll got me SCARED that I messed up. Even the ones that looked ready haven't done the external pip.
WHAT DO I DO? just leave them alone? take the water out? Yikes, I'm freaking out a little right now.![]()

she was wanting to see them wiggling...usually it's more difficult if the egg is confined![]()
