Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

I haven't found mant threads besides this one where people are friendly. I have asked a few questions on turkey threads. Usually no answer. They would probably scold me for giving Max people vitamins. But I figure he needs something to make up for the ice cream and Taco Bell.

The new broody might not accept the chick she hatches since she's only been broody a few days. Watch closely how she treats it. I've had them peck them to death if they weren't broody for at least 2 weeks.

Again, very true. Happens. Good luck, keep us updated. :)

I'm waiting on some eggs too and a new incubator with fan. Crossing my fingers that they arrive in time together.

Chicken owner have the patience of saints. We are always waiting, praying with fingers crossed. And then do it all over again, and again.

I don't think there is any part of waiting on mail, collecting, setting , incubating or hatching eggs where I am not nervous and biting my finger nails.

Hatching seems to be quite the roller coaster ride. I have 16 days left for my seven marans.

Last hatch, I trusted the incubator and got one early and the rest were duds. Now, I have a back-up thermometer/hygrometer and when the two disagree, I panic. I will probably get a back-up back-up thermometer/hygrometer after this hatch. Wonder how I will fit it in that tiny incubator.
