He is bourbon red.  Best pet ever but I can't leave him alone.  Yesterday I wewnt to lunch without him.  He slept on top of me allllllll night.  Chest, hip. legs, shoulder.  Alllllll night.  I rarely leave him.

We cracked open our unhatched broody eggs, after 21 days. I just threw these ones in the trash. We candled all of them, and two of the sex link crosses had the blood rings. And, one of the Silkie eggs is completely clear, but I refuse to throw it away just yet, such expensive little buggers.

5 hatched out of 25 eggs and 4 more have broken the shell a bit. So eggcited.

Thanks guys. What do you all do with your bad eggs? I was thinking, ziploc in a grocery bag, in the outside trash.

depends... if its a clear, I usually ziplock it and crack it open inside the baggie. toss it in the outside trash can, or in the burn barrel if it's going at the time.

if the chick is developed, then I chip away at the air cell and remove the shell into a bowl so I can inspect the contents of the egg. Once done, I dump it into a bag that seals, and dispose of it the same way.

if she is still on, then I would leave them. mother knows best. if she abandons then I would candle them and go from there.... what day is it? 23-24?
they could have also been laid a few days apart with a broody

Hello everyone! I'll be setting some Khaki Campbell eggs Sunday night, with an approximate due date of 2-15-14. Am I too late to join in?
