not every turkey has a nice warm bed to cuddle in with their human lol
I have a 2 dark roos and 3 light hens. One roo stays out with the mixed flock cause he likes them better.
He goes by Babysitter Casanova. He is protective over any/all chicks and shares his food with them. And because he is always dancing around the hens.
Really want a couple of buff hens.
Do you have them?
It's going to be in the 30's. A little too cold for me.What do you consider cold in Florida? I lived there way back in the day...the 60's! I lived in Fernandina Beach. I still remember walking to the beach. Love the memories. Here is Utah, we get pretty cold! Will be in the teens tonight, but so far, we've had a pretty good cold spurt. It was either in the single digit, or miuns for a couple of weeks. Love it when it is in the 20's at night. I am thinking the hen that is laying green eggs for you would be an EE..Easter Egger.
Or, you will get a real pretty blue egg from a true Ameraucana. Wheaten Ameraucana's lay the prettiest blue egg.

Congrads, they will all start popping out now. You have a long night ahead.![]()
Have not seen English Orpingtons before. Googled them, lots of different colors. Or search just gave me all orpingtons. Which do you have?
No I don't but I have been interested in them for awhile. I have one cochin and love her and I hear they are similar in personality. I also prefer a rose or pea comb, Don't have to worry about frostbite that way.

JD, we get real cold here, like I was saying, but a lot of folks have the Polish here. They seem to do pretty well. Vasaline up those combs, and they do ok. I have noticed that my older leghorn has a bit of frostbite on her big ol comb now. Not real bad. She's doing great. I do have a heat lamp in the coop. Hoping the poser does not go off during the winter. If so, they cuddle up in the coop. I would have to bring in some young chicks that I have out in the nursery hutch that aren't fully feathered, but will be pretty quick. Only two..they are almost ready for my grow out coop and run.
I have some Buff Orpington eggs that should be here today..and, also my Rhodebar eggs. I can see that the Rhodbars have been scanned in Salt Lake City, which means they should be at my P.O. this morning. But, not seeing anything scanned on the buff eggs since they started transit.I'm hoping they are here today anyway. Just not scanned for some reason.![]()
