Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Trying to clean the house. Washing my bedding. What's the point when this keeps happening. Now I have towash my mattress pad again. I can't blame them. I love taking a nap on a freshly washed bed.

Whew! I'm glad chickies are resilient, because mine are missing a couple turnings. Had my first trip to the er ever last night...I got admitted to the hospital last night for a lung bruise but thankfully no broken ribs after I tripped and got ran over by a scared horse. They still have me here for observation but hoping to go home today. My DH will go home to chore and turn eggs if it's too long. I love my horses dearly, but am thinking I might try a mule someday because I hear they aren't nearly as spooky. I'm so glad I've got baby bunnies and chicks due in the next week, because it's going to be tough staying out of the saddle while I'm sore. At least I'll have something to fixate on!

OMG take good care!

I have been so well behaved for most of the winter except for the one time I fell off of the wagon and ordered chicks from Greenfire. I will never order chicks in the winter again. I have not ordered any eggs since August. That is all over. I have Araucanas, Red Dorkings (for a friend),

Bresse, Barnevelders, Legbars and Basque eggs on their way. I was bidding on the Mottled Ameraucanas, oooowwwww they are so pretty. But now I am super poor. I hope more go up in a few weeks. I would love some.

I have three broody hens with their own little clutch. They have 2 Heritage Delaware, 3 light Sussex, 1 easter egger and 2 quail eggs! They are all in pens stacked on each other and I hear them talking to each other sometimes when I walk by. (12 Red coturnix quail eggs going in incubator tomorrow!)
