Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

The egg on left is 2 hours in. The one on right is two days in. Is it even developing? (It's defiantly fertile. The egg I cracked after it was fertile.)
can you candle it from the fat end down so we can see the air cell? is the yolk rolling when you turn the egg? it's really too soon but sometimes you can tell by some small changes

BLRW's day 18 today! 12 eggs look great, 1 is probably going to get culled when I candle them tonight... I suspect early quitter..
Faverolles day 16! we have 7 viable alive moving chicks in there

I just can't wait!!! I am playing them music in the incubator room lol
soon I will be in there chirping to them... while my DH laughs at me

Been fun reading this thread today..... Cant wait
Lock down was last night PM of day 18. I may have been keeping my still air a bit cool at 99.5 but that was what the directions said to do.
I have 34 eggs in, when I candled yesterday AM, virtually ALL were full of a chick so that I could no longer see ANYTHING.. There are a couple that seem to be a bit behind the others, but looking forward to cheeps tomorrow perhaps... Gonna try not to get antsy at quiet, since I understand from what I've read here (and from what I remember of biology classes) that lower temp = slower cook off!
Looking forward to seeing what comes from a Barred Rock and an Aussie Roo over Cali Whites, WWy, Americauna, Copper Marans, SLW and Buff Cochins..... hee!

what breeds?

Wheaten Ameraucanas! Pretty blue eggs, but rather small and very thin shells... Fingers crossed that they come out OK! One of them is really strange. HUGE thick red vein around the whole middle of the egg that looks almost like a crack. Not sure what is going on in any of them. I need to borrow my mother's Maglight to candle soon! That thing went through Maran shells!
