what kind of eggs?? 2 days is just too early, sometimes on a little white bantam egg you can see a tincy little red maybe spot but usually not until day 3 and sometimes not before 5-7....don't give up until day 10 unless it stinks...which that egg doesn't appear to have bacteria in it so doubt that'll be your case

They are all bantam cross eggs. Thanks.

now that gimmie pointed that out I think it has a pressure mark!...
anyone else??

What's a pressure mark?

A porous egg.   Not sure I see a crack.     The porous egg can have different patterns like that.  I don't worry over them.  They can develop and do fine.

That's good to hear.

Looks cracked to me. I asked if it was sealed before setting but didn't get an answer. They may have missed my question.

I never saw a crack on it, so it was never sealed.

I'm sorry!

the splay leg is fairly simple just wrap a band aid around the little legs up near the top only tighten it enough to keep them in line...keep us informed

Yes, were going to try this tonight.. I have been hand feeding it lol, I just dip my finger in water then the chick starter, it gobbles it up, getting water down it as been alittle more trying but it gets enough until we can try to get it up and around...Worried because my last hatch produced two with splayed leg, one worked for a few months but as it grew and got heavier it went right back.. We eventually had to cull it as it couldn't get around. But it wont stop us from trying again!
Thanks everyone, today has been a bit of a letdown, I had really hoped to get a good hatch this time and have been questioning myself and what in the heck I am doing!!
but I have already started collecting eggs, If I can hatch out some more atleast these chicks (or chick if we cannot help the deformed one) will have some company.
Going to set a new batch Friday

I HAVE INTERNAL PIPS! Day 19! It's my first time doing this, but I'm a livestock person so haven't really gotten excited so far. But oh my...I'm not sure I can handle lockdown now that it's actually here! Somebody tie my hands...

wow! YAY!!!!

All eggs are on day 3 besides egg 16 & 8, these two are on day two.

#14 is the one that looks cracked to me. Porous (weak) shells crack easily. The area below the number that looks like a spiderweb made of light concerns me. I would coat that area thinly with nail polish or school glue. Some use wax, but I have never had luck with wax. I have too much trouble controlling where it drips & always miss spots. Sealing prevents bacteria ffrom getting into the egg & also prevents too much moisture loss/shrink wrap.

HELP!!!!!!!!!

Ok so while candling my late eggs the whole end on one of them cracked and gave away yikes what should I do how can I tell if the chick is even alive in it? it is not moving at all they are day 22 should I just do an eggtopsy on it there is no blood I can see feathers.

I can't help my OCD.. But, you do realize that you wrote the numbers on the eggs upside down?

Just want to confirm that you know that if you have them set in a carton or upright, that the big end is supposed to be on top- seems backwards, but that's where air cells are. Darn my OCD!
