Jan. Hatch A Long?

If your humidity has been that high AND you haven't opened it, then sit on your hands.
It was opened for about 20 seconds twice. One to place a paper towel in the bator after I overfilled a well. (Through a tube)
And soon after to remove the paper towel and reposition a wet egg.
The humidity reading definitely didn't go below 60.

I moved 12 Cream Legbar and 21 Barnyard Mix eggs into the hatcher last night, Day 19. Eggs are from local keepers, and I was pleased to see that all 12 CL eggs appeared to have live chicks in them - hopefully they all hatch!

Of course I also want all 21 BYMs to hatch :)

That could still be a problem. The hygrometers aren't instant read and the membrane can dry in seconds.

That's what happened to mine and I had to help it but I didn't have any other pips. Looks like might need to chip away some shell while warm wet paper towel around it. If blood don't do it. I waited 12+ hours with no progress and her little butt was completely stuck to shell. Now very healthy. Good luck and post pics

Sorry for taking up time on this thread... Tell me if I should go to beginners...

Ok I have one out and he is trampling all over the other eggs.
Is that Ok? The other eggs are rolling all over the place.
I was under the impression they get out and sleep. This little guy is climbing all over the mountains of eggs.

So cute and I was able to watch the hatch just as I walked into the house. He waited for me!

Not unusual at all. We call it baby rolling the eggs around like bowling balls. Some have gone to hatching in an egg carton. I tried that, didn't care for it. I found several that tried to pip up against the egg carton, couldn't zip. I just let the new little ones hatch, then I usually snatch them out real quick before too much humidity gets out..I add real warm water to bring up the humidity first though, before opening the bator.

This egg hatched about an hour ago and it seems like he has a slipped tendon.
He is not using the leg/foot but is trying his best to move about the incubator.

Do I remove him and try to manipulate the tendon back into place or leave the incubator closed until the others hatch?

I am a nervous wreck!
