Hi everyone so I have this incubator that I got and I had already hatched out three chicks out of it. But before that I didn’t I wasn’t monitoring the humidity or the temperature internally I just plugged it in and ran it and only three of the six egg survive the other to drowned. My problem with this incubator right now is I have silky eggs coming on Monday and I cannot seem to get the humidity to be regulated correctly right now it is showing 53% which is finally the most normal it’s been but anytime I add new water it spikes. I also can’t seem to get the temp to stay at the right mark. If anyone has any advice or can tell me what their factory settings are that would be awesome. I have the temp set for 40c because internally it’s reading 95.3 and humidity is at 52% I had to put the water in the bottom part of a red solo cup so it doesn’t have such a large evaporation surface.

To try getting temp stable wrap it in a blanket. Leave the air hole on top uncovered though. If you want to lower humidity, get all of the water out of the bottom (I never put any in the bottom, it just doesn't work) and use two little cups. Solo cups should work good. I use these.

Okay awesome! Thank you! I have the bottom of two solo cups in there. And so far I have the humidity down but the inside temp is reading 95.0 f and I have the incubator set to 38.0c.... I’m not sure if I should raise it to 40c till it gets to 100f inside?

Did you physically calibrate your thermometers? Do you know if they're 100% accurate? I'm wondering if it might be wrong.
