Several years ago I bought this Janoel 12 Incubator. The machine seems fine for a cheap Chinese model. My problem is the guy who wrote the manual was probably Chinese and had problems with another language. Parts of the text are vague and confusing and there is no information for turkey poults. So as advised in the booklet I added 100ml water at the start and checked each day added more as the level fell. The machine was set at 37.5 C. I got one chick with wry neck. 2 dead chicks and 3 yolks and albumin smelly mess.

The lady I bought the eggs from said she added NO water at the start and at "lockdown" [ a term I had not heard of, but now understand] So, at lockdown, she puts in water to her Bransea incubator, she is not sure how much as it is all done automatically.

I now believe than NO water should be used at the start. at lockdown 100ml of water should be added. If this right? Anyone with the model and is happy with it?

Regards

It isn't that simple. You need accurate thermometers that have been at least checked for accuracy if not calibrated. You also need a hygrometer that has at least been checked for accuracy (salt test) if not calibrated.

Do not trust the incubator's thermometer.
